A fine group of musicians showed what can happen when you don’t skip piano lessons and put in the work at home as they put on an impressive piano recital at the Uintah Conference Center last week. The National Federation of Music Clubs/Vernal Chapter held its yearly piano festival on March 15th and 23rd at the Uintah County Library. “It is a festival designed to promote study and stimulate interest in American literature and to encourage each participant to reach a high standard of musical achievement,” shares Vernal Chapter board member Teresa Rasmussen. “Students perform and receive adjudication marks from area piano teacher volunteers. This year 115 students performed. The top 15% were invited to participate in a Federation Honors Recital which was held at the Uintah Conference Center on March 25th.” The following were invited to perform: Annabelle Johnson, Hailey Rasmussen, Elijah Haslem, Parker Anderson, Molly Johnson, Brielle Batty, Vincent Jones, Lottie Horrocks, Wylo Reynolds, Paisley Richards, Claire Davies, Aubrey Weston, Ryker Madson, Cole Murphy, Suzannah Despain, Kache Rasmussen and Hailey Cook. Well done to these accomplished musicians.
