Local schools do a good job of providing service opportunities throughout the school year and the Christmas season is no exception. Uintah School District shares that Naples Elementary recently set a service goal to collect 1,000 hats and gloves to help keep kids warm. Not surprisingly, the students rose to and exceeded the challenge! This week, the Naples Elementary student council delivered 1,664 items on behalf of the Naples Elementary Wise Guys to the Utah Foster Care Foundation, the Utah Division of Child and Family Services, Santa’s Angels and the Naples Police Department. Naples Elementary first graders really stepped up and donated the most items. Davis Elementary community has also focused on serving those in need this holiday season. Donations were made to fill backpacks with food for students to have during the holidays. Well done to all in serving the local community.
