A group of local middle school musicians have an incredible opportunity today. The Uintah School District shared on Friday that the Vernal Middle School Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble were invited to play at the Utah State Capitol as part of Utah School Boards Association Day on the Hill. Both ensembles are performing today in the Utah State Capitol rotunda. “The Jazz Ensemble performs under the direction of AJ Nicoll, while the Percussion Ensemble performs under the direction of Elaine Koons,” shares the District announcement. “Students in both ensembles put in extra time to learn to play their instruments and practice together.” The group were able to put on a short send-off show for the Vernal Middle School staff in the school’s auditorium on Friday afternoon.
