Local police officers were rightfully honored and thanked last week for their service to the community. According to a press release from Vernal PD, “on March 23rd, the Vernal Police Department held their annual Awards Banquet. Present were members of the Department and members of the Vernal City Administration. Also invited were two members of the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, and one member of the Naples Police Department. These individuals were invited to be recognized for their contribution and assistance to the Vernal Police Department. During the ceremony, awards were given to 30 deserving individuals. The awards were Officer of the Year, Street Officer of the Year, Life Saving, K-9 Commendation, Drug Interdiction, Honorable Service, Ready Commendation, Unit Citation, and Military Service. Congratulations to all for your outstanding work and commitment to your profession and our community!” Vernal PD also offered thanks to all Law Enforcement in the Uintah Basin for their efforts during a challenging 2020.
