The Roosevelt Junior High School hosted a Career Fair for its students on Wednesday, December 5th. Over six hundred and fifty students were signed up to attend. Students attended sessions based on an interest profile to determine what kind of job would fit their profile, be it social, artistic, conventional, enterprising, investigative, or realistic. Over twenty-six local companies did an excellent job of explaining and breaking down the different jobs that their business can offer to its applicants. Jerlyn Hyder, the representative for Strata, gave a class on Communications Systems and had this to say about the event: “ We can show these kids what classes they need for the job they want and how to get where they want to be.” This event is a great experience for the kids and opens doors for the students at the Junior High School. We are grateful to the community businesses and their partnership with our local education.
