A Roosevelt pair is turning heads in the professional bowling world. The United States Bowling Congress highlighted bowlers Tony Jeppesen and Carlos Soto this week after they teamed up and took the lead in the 2017 Classified Doubles event going on in Las Vegas this week. 49-year-old Jeppesen led the way on Wednesday with a 583 three game series. Soto added a 531 three game series for a total of 1,114. The pair were invited to the Open Championships after being invited by friends at Ute Lanes in Fort Duchesne. The Open Championships has been a debut for 23-year-old Soto who said he wasn’t expecting to be leaving in the lead but is excited by the whole experience. The pair now just has to wait and see if their score holds on for a few more squads which will conclude on July 16th. The run could turn into a national title for the pair.
