Christmas is over and cleanup has begun or is coming up. Luckily, plans are back on for Christmas tree recycling in Vernal City for those that enjoyed a real Christmas tree this year. If you’re not quite ready to part with it, here’s a suggestion offered by the Conservation Issues Committee of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce. Some people choose to keep their tree and turn it into a winter bird feeder. Leave the tree in its stand and set it up outside. Redecorate it with seed balls, strings of popcorn, berries, peanuts or anything local birds can safely enjoy. In the spring, cut up the tree for firewood or chip it for your own mulch. If turning your tree into a winter bird feeder isn’t your style, there is of course the option to recycle it through Vernal City. Remove all decorations and drop it off at the Vernal City parking lot located at 100 West 100 North. Just place your tree by the fence. Collected trees are chipped into mulch for landscaping use in the City.
