Lake Fork Trail and the Brown Duck Trail have been closed due to the recent washouts that closed the Moon Lake Campground. Ashley National Forest shared that the washouts and new ravines have made the trails dangerous for pack stock and foot traffic. The temporary trail closure issued by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service went into effect on August 31st and will remain in effect until rescinded. The order lists Brown Duck Trail, Lake Fork Trail, and Forest Service Trail 1062A with restrictions to any type of motorized vehicle, equestrian, bicycle, and pedestrian use. For those interested in the condition of Timber Canyon Road, the Ashley National Forest Road Crew has installed culverts in multiple locations where washouts occurred and the road is now open for public travel.
