The John Wesley Powell River Festival is not only about water fun but music as well. The Festival kicks off today and tonight’s live entertainment will be the Uintah Basin’s Own Alive After Five Idol Contest. Friday’s music features Nick Passey & Aria Darling with Stillhouse Junkies as the headliners. Saturday’s music includes open mic music until 3pm and then David Burchfield & The Fire Guild followed by The Sweet Lillies. Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp shares that this is the 5th year for the John Wesley Powell River Festival. This fun community event celebrates the history of white water rafting in the area. Join the fun on the paddle pond, for the bluegrass and Americana music festival, cornhole, art vendors, plinko and lots of yummy food!
