The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce Public Relations Committee has announced the latest recipient of the quarterly Outstanding Public Service award. Jeremy Raymond is known for his commitment to the community and as the Uintah Fire Suppression Special Service District Executive Director. “Some of his responsibilities include fire inspections, fire investigations, hazardous materials response, airport fire and rescue, and managing and directing the fire district,” shares the announcement. “He is also a paramedic and runs part time for Gold Cross Ambulance in Vernal. Jeremy’s passion is public safety. He spends many hours assisting and training first responders throughout the county. He also travels around the state of Utah training and testing volunteer fire departments for The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy.” Jeremy was awarded the Distinguished Manager Award by the Utah Association of Special Districts in 2023 and he has been the recipient of the Kevin Orr Memorial Award for dedication and devotion to the citizens of the Uintah Basin.
