A local fire department has put in the hours to now receive some much deserved recognition. During Wednesday’s monthly Uintah Fire District board meeting, the Jensen Fire Department received the ‘Department Recognition, Category Silver’. This means that 75% of the department’s firefighters are certified in five areas: Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operations, and Wildland Firefighter 1. Serving as the representative for the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA), Jeremy Raymond presented the award recognition. The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy extended their congratulations to the Jensen Fire Department, sharing that “this shows a significant sacrifice of time from your department members. Hours and hours of training, studying, and dedication to service. Your community members should be proud to have such a well trained department!” Congratulations to the Jensen Fire Department on this well deserved recognition.
