Issues signing up for the Utah State University Ozone Alert Program have been resolved. Dr. Seth Lyman, Director of the USU Bingham Research Center, shared during the October collaborative meeting for the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining that repairs have been made to the system. “If you tried to sign up for this program and did not receive a confirmation email, please sign up again,” explains Dr. Lyman. “The system has had problems, but they have now been resolved.” The Ozone Alert Program was designed to provide the oil and gas industry in the Uinta Basin with advance notice if high ozone is expected so they can take action to reduce emissions where possible. The emails alert recipients if wintertime ozone is forecast within the next two days as well as when a forecast episode ends or never materialized.
