The 14th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team, assisted by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that took place in Craig on Friday. According to a press release from the Craig Police Department, at approximately 8:58am on March 31st, officers from the Craig Police Department and Moffat County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make contact with an adult male outside the Cool Water Grille in Craig. The suspect, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, ran from the officers. Officers chased the subject who displayed a firearm and an officer involved shooting occurred. The subject was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. A firearm was recovered at the scene. No other community members or officers were injured in this incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
