A local family is dealing with the aftermath of a tragedy that struck over the weekend and friends of this family are inviting the public to help if they can. Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond reports that Vernal Fire received a report of a structure fire around 2:30am on Saturday, November 4th. Crews arrived and found a single wide trailer in the KOA campground fully engulfed. The occupant had made it out of the home and was examined by medical personnel for smoke inhalation. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and cleared the scene at around 4:30am with damages estimated at around $80,000 dollars. The fire remains under investigation. A GoFundMe page under the name ‘Nick Carter House fire’ is gathering donations to help with the demolition, clean up, and relocation expenses as the homeowner is 78-years-old and did not have insurance.
