House Fire in Vernal City Causes Approximately $150,000 in Damage

Thankfully all got out safely from a house fire that occurred Wednesday in Vernal. According to Uintah County Fire Marshal Jeremy Raymond, a structure fire was reported on Cedar Street. Vernal Fire Department arrived around 5:00 pm and the back porch was in flames with the fire extending into the back roof. Everyone in the home had made it out safely and no injuries were reported, shares Raymond. Firefighters were able to do a quick knock down. The damage to the structure and contents is estimated at approximately $150,000 dollars. Crews remained on scene until about 7:00 pm looking for hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
