The Dinah Soar Days festival may have been officially moved to August but based on the bright balloons dotting the skies this weekend you wouldn’t have known it. “When we had to move the date from this weekend, some of the pilots still expressed interest in flying,” shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. “We figured it would be an economic boost to the community and also add color to the sky and show our #VernalStrong spirit. Even under these circumstances we are able to come together as a community and smile.” 9 pilots brought their balloons and while it turned out to be too windy to fly on Saturday morning, the pilots made the call to fly Saturday evening with better conditions. “Sunday morning’s weather was perfect,” says Coltharp. “9 balloons were able to cover most of the community…We hope everyone enjoyed the view and can’t wait to bring the balloons back in August with all the other Dinah Soar Days events: night glow on Main Street, battle of the bands, Vern and Al party at the museum, craft fair, car show, and dino dash!” Dinah Soar Days will be held August 28th through the 30th.
