It’s the 8th year for the ‘Cards For Kids At Heart’ program that makes sure every senior citizen in the area knows they are loved for Valentine’s Day. “I am happy to say we have never left a senior out when it comes to the outpouring of cards through the program,” shares program founder and KLCY morning show host Amy Richards. “I have asked for the cards each year and you deliver in record amounts. Over 800 seniors from Rangely to Duchesne and all the homebound seniors in between, get your messages of love and the smiles speak volumes,” continues Richards. “This year I have yet to see the cards in the studio but we still have time.” All are encouraged to take part in making homemade cards. Please share pictures of your kids or group making the cards and message them to ‘Cards For Kids at Heart’ on Facebook or text the pictures to 435-828-KLCY. Donations are also needed for chocolates and stuffed animals. Donations can be made at a Mountain America Credit Union branch to the 501c3 Charitable Friends of Ashley Valley. The deadline for cards this year is February 7th at 5pm and drop off locations are Realty One, ChiroCenter, and the KLCY/Fox Studio in Vernal and at the KNEU/Jack FM studio and Subway in Roosevelt.
