Drinking doesn’t mix with a lot of things, including an uninvited visit to an
ex-girlfriend’s home, as one man in Uintah County recently found out. While patrolling
during the early morning of January 27th, a Uintah County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a
suspicious vehicle at the Naples City Park. Then while patrolling the area, the Deputy
was flagged down by a group of people, one of which stated that her ex-boyfriend had
just broke into her home and was found crawling through her residence while she was
asleep. The intruder, 43-year-old Lance Jacobsen, engaged in an altercation with the
woman’s teenage son before taking off on foot. The pair of Deputies found a man
matching the given description lying face down on the ground in a group of trees near the
walking path at the Naples City Park. Officers drew their weapons and ordered the man
out. He was detained and identified as Lance Jacobsen. Deputies confirmed that the
suspicious vehicle was his. Upon investigating the home where Jacobsen was alleged to
have broken in, Deputies found a hat and wallet sitting outside the back porch next to a
large dog door. Jacobsen’s driver’s license and social security card were both found inside
the wallet. It was determined he had made entry through the dog door. Jacobsen was
arrested for Criminal Trespass, Intoxication, and Failure to Stop at the Command of
Police.
