A home check of a woman on probation ended in arrest in Uintah County last week. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were called to assist Adult Probation and Parole on a home visit after illegal narcotics were located in the residence. Officers arrived and a search revealed a methamphetamine pipe and a baggie containing methamphetamine. Officers talked to 37-year-old Cheryl Bernice Gardner and she said she had smoked meth earlier and had been drinking. It was then that a machete about 24 inches long was found under Gardner’s bed. Because she is on Felony probation for DUI she is not allowed to possess a weapon as a Category 1 Restricted Person. Gardner was booked into Uintah County Jail. She is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Misdemeanor charges.
