Both directions of Highway 40 were once again closed over the weekend, this time on
Sunday evening due to a fatal crash. UDOT announced that there had been a crash at
Mile Post 42 near Strawberry Reservoir on January 14th between 8 and 9pm. Initially
both lanes were closed. Eventually the westbound lane was opened while the eastbound
lane remained closed. Utah Highway Patrol confirmed to Evans Family Media that the
accident involved a semi and a snowmobile and that the snowmobile driver was killed.
More information is scheduled for release on Monday.
