Unseasonably high temperatures and unpredictable winds continue to fuel the Yellow Lake Fire. According to the Thursday update from Utah Fire Info, the fire is showing the most active growth in the southeast corner. As fire moves out of the Iron Mine area and into the North Fork of the Duchesne, firefighters are working to enhance the fuel breaks and slow progression. Crews are focused on prepping and protecting structures and other values at risk in these areas. To date, no structures have been lost. Evacuation orders remain unchanged. The North and West Forks of the Duchesne River are under a mandatory GO evacuation, meaning all residents, hunters, and recreationists must leave and stay out of the area. The Granddaddy Lakes area in the Ashley National Forest and Hanna are under a SET order, advising residents to have bags packed and be prepared to evacuate if necessary.
