Wrestlers in Duchesne County put in every effort at state tournaments this month. Altamont wrestling brought home 5 individual state champions and secured a 2nd place finish in the 1A state tournament with 163 points. Those champions were Weston Mullins, Greysen McKinnon, Bryant Mullins, Brayden Webb, and Dillon Ivie. Kaleb Witbeck had a 3rd place finish and Justin Goodrich, McCrey Beal, and McClaine Murdock each placed 4th in their weight category. Duchesne wrestling placed 6th in the 2A state tournament with 105 points. Dierk Skewes came home a state champion and Gatlen Farnsworth placed 2nd, Colton Winkler placed 4th, and Kasen Crum and Tucker Blackburn placed 5th in their individual weight categories. In the girls 3A tournament, Duchesne’s Breann Ivie placed 3rd and Abigail Woods placed 6th. Union High School placed 5th at the 3A state tournament with 121.5 points. Tucker Roybal came home a state champion. Deagan Davis placed 2nd, Jed Chatwin placed 3rd, Brack Winterton placed 5th, and Denver Cloward placed 6th, each in their respective weight categories. Union girls placed 5th in the 3A girls tournament with 129 points. Evie Davidson came home a state champion. Dahlia Perry placed 2nd, Emily Perkins placed 4th, Jasmin Brown placed 4th, Bailee Thompson placed 5th, and Kabree Duncan placed 6th in their respective weight categories.
