High School Realignment Changes Approved By UHSAA

The Utah High School Activities Association approved realignment changes for high school regions this week and it comes with some changes for Uintah Basin teams. Uintah High School returns to 4A play along with Region 8 and Region 9 teams. Union High is listed under 3A-North. Duchesne High School is listed as 1A for football and 2A for all other activities. Altamont, Manila, and Tabiona High Schools were listed under 1A with Altamont playing 8-player football. UHSAA shared the following: “The Association appreciates the tireless effort that our board of trustees performs during the realignment process. Their hours of research, conversation and outreach during the realignment are crucial to creating a feasible alignment for Utah students.” The changes will be implemented in the fall of 2023.
