High School Mountain Bike Race Headed to Vernal; Volunteers Needed

It is time for the rubber to meet the road, or rather to hit the dirt trails. Vernal will be hosting the Utah High School Cycling League Mountain Bike Race Central Division this weekend with another regional race happening next week. There will be over 1,300 riders plus their families in the Basin. Lesha Coltharp, the Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director, is reminding local businesses to “please plan accordingly and have enough food and staff for both weekends. We continue to have these races because of the AWESOME service that is provided in our community and the hospitality that the athletes and their families receive here,” shares Coltharp. The race will be held at the Buckskin Hills Raceway and volunteers are still needed. September 6th is set up and September 7th is race day. Volunteers can sign up through www.UtahMTB.org
