The public is being urged to use caution while recreating in Starvation Reservoir. TriCounty Health Department announced Friday that a Harmful Algal Bloom was spotted in the reservoir, concentrated at the main beach. They urged all to use caution until more information could be given after lab results were finalized. The sign posted states that the lake may be unsafe for people and pets and until further notice: do not swim or ski in areas of scum, do not drink lake water, keep pets and livestock away, clean fish well and discard guts, and avoid areas of scum when boating. If you or your animals have sudden or unexplained sickness or signs of poisoning after visiting the reservoir, call your doctor or veterinarian.
