The weather is cooperating nicely for the Hancock Cove Sewer project with plans to continue work as much as possible through the winter. In the recent weeks, Condie Construction Company has placed over 1,100 feet of pipe and 4 manholes. The crews have also moved forward digging test holes along the pipeline alignment to stay prepared for the conditions. The project will add a 2 mile sewer line to the subdivision for a cost of around $5.8 million dollars. The project is being funded with a loan/grant from the Community Impact Board primarily and the Department of Environmental Quality. Residents in the Stonegate/Hancock Cove area outside Roosevelt has suffered serious septic tank failure as the neighborhood dealt with rising water tables. The area was annexed into Roosevelt City as part of the process to address the problem so that sewer could be run to the neighborhood.
