Thousands of people gathered in downtown Vernal on Saturday for a popular annual
event that is one of the largest of its kind in the state of Utah. Like last year, this year’s
Halloween Mayor’s Walk accommodated a huge crowd as Main Street was closed to
traffic and businesses handing out candy were able to spread out. One estimate on
attendance was that 6,000 people attended while another estimate was that it was closer
to 10,000! Regardless, this made for a super variety of costumes ranging from wild and
wacky to cute or terrifying.
The Hemphills were just one among the thousands of other families enjoying the chance to wear costumes and gather candy. 6-year-old Dayson went all out in a Grinch costume he had been working on all year. Dayson’s mom Marla appreciates the effort that goes into the Mayor’s Walk. “We love how everyone gets involved coming together to make it fun for the kids,” shared Marla. “We love to go all out on our costumes!” And they certainly did a great job of it. Dayson not only had the look of the Grinch, he also had the padding with a pillow for a belly and a pillow for a
bum. Saturday afternoon was an amazing time thanks to the success of this year’s
Halloween Mayor’s Walk, of which Evans Family Media is a proud sponsor.
