The Grizzly Creek Fire in Western Colorado has resulted in evacuations and closures and is spreading smoke throughout the region. The fire started in Glenwood Canyon on Monday. As of Wednesday’s report, the fire was 0% contained and had reached 3,702 acres. Total personnel working the fire is 211 and there are multiple aircraft including two Very Large Air Tankers, multiple Large Air Tankers, 4 heavy helicopters, and 1 medium helicopter. The cause remains under investigation and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that the current evacuation list includes Lookout Mountain, Homestead Estates, Bair Ranch, High Aspen Ranch, Coulter Creek, Cottonwood Pass, Spring Valley Ranch, and No Name. Current road closures due to the Grizzly Creek Fire include Coulter Creek Road, Lookout Mountain Road, No Name Lane, Buck Point Road, Cottonwood Pass Road in Eagle and Garfield Counties, Coffee Pot Road, Transfer Trail, Clinetop Mesa Road, Red Canyon Road, and about 24 miles of I-70.
