Greens Draw Road in Daggett County has reopened to public use now that work on the Speirs Fire contingency line is fully complete. In mid August it was announced that the Speirs Fire was 100 percent contained but that construction crews would continue until the contingency line was complete. All routes previously closed due to the Speirs Fire have reopened for public use, including Greens Draw Road, also known as Forest Service Road 049. Construction crews have now left the area though firefighters will continue to monitor and patrol the fire area over the next several weeks. The Speirs Fire was started by lightning on Saturday, July 13th and burned a total of 715 acres.
