Governor Gary Herbert joined the governors from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming on Wednesday to sign a memorandum of understanding that’s all about promoting a plan for electric vehicles in the west. The REV West Plan covers over 5,000 miles of highway across interstates including I-15, I-80, and I-70. The plan states that over 20,000 electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids are on the roads in the western states and providing electrification on these major corridors will drive adoption of electric vehicles. “Utah is proud to take part in modernizing the ‘Crossroads of the West’ through working state-to-state to establish this strategic electric vehicle transportation network,” shares Governor Gary Herbert. “By knitting together the plans of seven key states…America’s travelers will soon be able to experience the wonders of the West while enjoying the innovations of our day and advancing environmental outcomes.”
