The dedicated crew of Gold Cross Ambulance never hesitate to respond to an emergency but that doesn’t exempt them from the dangers we all face on the roads. A crew met one such danger head on last week. Gold Cross Director Scott Adams shares that a crew was responding to a car versus deer accident in Colorado when an entire herd of elk crossed in front of the ambulance. The ambulance hit an elk at mile marker 16 on Highway 40 in Colorado. There were no injuries thankfully in the accident or the accident they were responding to but the elk died and the ambulance was totaled. Gold Cross responds to calls in Colorado under a mutual aid agreement.
