A company that serves and saves lives in this community has plenty to celebrate. Gold Cross Ambulance was founded in 1968 by Gene and Julia Moffitt who responded to calls in the Salt Lake area with two Cadillac ambulances equipped with first-aid kits, resuscitation devices and stretchers. Fast forward 50 years and Gold Cross is serving Salt Lake, Utah, Juab, Iron, Washington, and Uintah County with a team of over 500 highly trained and certified paramedics and EMTs, a fleet of 145 fully equipped vehicles, and a state-of-the-art emergency communications center. “It’s amazing what has happened in 50 years,” shares local Gold Cross Director Scott Adams. “When you consider all the different agencies out there, who would have thought back in 1968 that they would still be going strong and servicing such a broad area.” One of the original Cadillac ambulances has been refurbished to its original likeness to commemorate the landmark 50 year celebration. “Gold Cross Ambulance is always happy to serve the communities that we are in,” says Adams, “not only the citizens but the visitors to this area as well.”
