The Uintah County Library is so much more than a place to check out books for the Teen Advisory Council and other youth that attend activities. Librarian Amber Lynch loves working with these youth and providing a place for them to belong. “It keeps the teens off the streets and safe from doing other things that can get them into trouble or worse,” shares Lynch. “It teaches them how to communicate and how to interact with peers and the adult volunteers without the use of technology [and] gives teens a chance to meet other teens in the community.” Lynch and her Teen Advisory Council have been hard at work preparing for the ‘GLOW KRAZY’ teen lock-in event
tomorrow night
. “The lock-ins give the teens a way to be themselves without being in trouble for being loud and to know they are accepted for who they are,” says Lynch. “We give them learning opportunities in a fun way that encourages them to succeed in life.” All middle- and high school aged youth are invited to attend Friday’s event but need to register through the link on the Uintah County Library Facebook page.
