Giving hearts and open pocketbooks made for a successful evening at this year’s Trees For Charity Auction Gala at the Uintah Conference Center on Monday night. The night total reached an awe inspiring $406,850 dollars for the 40 auctioned trees. This is the third year in a row the night total exceeded the $400,000 mark. In 2021, the auction night total reached $310,000 dollars which was the record at that time. Tree #11 “Amy Strong” received the highest donation total of the night, reaching $46,000 dollars after being bought and then resold four additional times. The recipient is Amy Hammond, a local mother of 3 who is in the battle for her life against triple-negative breast cancer. Many other trees received support of over $10,000 dollars and multiple buyers. The People’s Choice award this year went to Tree #9 “Mario’s Christmas Kingdom” to benefit the Barton family. The Children’s Choice award this year went to Tree #6 “Blue, Bluey Christmas” to benefit the Rinderknecht family. The 2024 grand total will be announced after the donations from the auction, silent auction, and tree toppers are all calculated.
