Last year the Holly Days started a new successful event called the Lantern Launch. The original festival has its roots in China dating back to around 206 BC to 25 AD. It has been made popular in modern time with movies like Tangled. This year there will be a limit of 300 lanterns and all interested are encouraged to get registered now to be sure to have a spot. Plus those that purchase a lantern are automatically entered to win a hot air balloon ride at the Dinah “Soar” Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival in May. The lanterns will be launched from Main Street just before the Parade of Lights starts during the Holly Days festivities on November 29th.
