A man who had been arrested last summer for being a main player in a long list of thefts in Duchesne County and then escaped custody in the fall has finally been apprehended by law enforcement. 32-year-old Gattlyn Macaulay Nicholes was arrested in July after having been found in possession of stolen camp trailers, ATVs and more. Then on October 1st, 2024 Gattlyn was released from the Duchesne County Jail to attend an inpatient rehabilitation facility. Before arriving at the facility, Gattlyn absconded. At the time he had 8 active no bail warrants for his arrest out of the 8th District Court in Duchesne County. “On January 2nd, 2025, detectives and deputies with the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Gattlyn was currently at a residence in the western part of Duchesne County,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property and responded to the residence. Upon executing the warrant, detectives located Gattlyn inside a home on the property, and took him into custody without incident.” The Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for their help.
