Funding will continue for the Uintah Basin Air Quality Research through USU Uintah Basin’s Bingham Research Center. HB319, sponsored by Representative Scott Chew, was passed during the Utah 2023 Legislative session. This will continue funding for the Bingham Research Center even though the funding was set to expire this year. HB319 passing means funds are to be available based on the need for the study. Dr. Seth Lyman is the Executive Director of the Bingham Research Center. Dr. Lyman keeps the public informed of air quality during the moments at most risk of ozone exceedances and the program provides up to date air quality data at ubair.usu.edu in addition to their ongoing research.
