A freeze watch is in effect starting tonight and running through Wednesday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures will be as low as 28 degrees. It is recommended that residents take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes. It’s also possible that the frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
The area of impact in Utah is primarily the eastern Uintah Basin, Canyonlands/Natural Bridges, and Southeast Utah Counties; and in Colorado, Central Gunnison and Uncompahgre River Basin County.
