The Utah Congressman who represented the District covering the Uintah Basin for 18 years has endorsed Roosevelt Mayor JR Bird for the 3rd Congressional District seat. While visiting Vernal this month, Bishop shared his endorsement, stating, “It’s important to have someone like JR Bird who understands rural Utah to make sure that voice is represented amongst the delegation in Washington D.C.” He explained, “It’s important for that person to train the other three members of our delegation in the House as well as the two senators so they can speak with a united voice for us.” Bishop said he hopes people will get behind Bird “because we have the opportunity to do something really good not only for the Basin but for the State of Utah.” Bird’s run is a legitimate opportunity to have rural Utah represented like never before. It’s expected that a high voter turnout in rural Utah counties could dictate the election’s result. Former Congressman Bishop was in the Uintah Basin promoting his new book ‘The Things I Learned In Congress They Never Taught In School’.
