The Uintah County Commission approved the annual agreement to maintain certain forest service roads. In 2015, the county and forest service entered into an agreement that has to be revisited annually. The agreement states that the county is responsible for maintaining 8.56 miles of paved roads and just over 126 miles of dirt and gravel roads within Uintah County. Commissioner Brad Horrocks noted that these are “B” roads that the county is reimbursed for the cost of maintenance. In 2016, Uintah County received roughly $206,615 dollars from the “B” and “C” road funds. Last year, approximately $82,800 dollars were spent on projects plus $24,628 dollars from the Transportation District for crack seal projects. This year the tentative plan is to complete some work on the Red Cloud Loop as well as grade most of the miles of gravel roads the county maintains.
