Lapoint Elementary set an example of healthy living last week. Uintah School District shared that Thursday’s beautiful spring weather provided the perfect backdrop for students, family, community members and local first responders to join Lapoint Elementary staff in the school’s annual Walk to School Day. Everyone gathered at Liberty Corner and was escorted by first responders, walking to school together to celebrate spring, healthy bodies and the hard work done by everyone at Lapoint Elementary this year. “This has been an exceptional year in trying times and I’m so proud of all of the hard work of our students, their families and our staff,” Principal Dennis Atkin said. “Our school mantra is: ‘At Lapoint Elementary School we can do hard things!’ And we do!”

First responders from the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol, and Lapoint/Tridell Fire Department escorted walkers along the way and made sure that help was on hand if needed.
