Fire restrictions have been implemented in northeastern Utah. As of Monday, June 25th, all State, BLM, and National Park Service lands are under fire restrictions due to forecasted weather conditions coupled with extremely dry conditions and heavy vegetation. The complete list includes the following areas: State Lands and unincorporated private lands in Uintah, Duchesne, and Daggett Counties; BLM lands located in Uintah, Duchesne, and Daggett Counties; and National Park Service lands located in Dinosaur National Monument. Each agency has their own stipulations but each prohibits the following: No campfires, except in permanently constructed cement or metal fire pits provided in developed campgrounds and picnic areas; and no smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site or while stopped in an area that is paved, barren or cleared to mineral soil. On BLM and State/Private Unincorporated lands, there is no metal cutting, welding or grinding activities in areas of dry vegetation, no discharge or use of any kind of fireworks, firing steel tipped/core ammunition, tracer ammunition, or other pyrotechnic devices including exploding targets. Restrictions will remain in effect until fire hazard subsides. For more specific information including maps of affected areas, visit
