Officials confirmed a fatal crash that took place on SR-191 in Duchesne County
on Saturday morning
. According to Utah Highway Patrol, a white Chevrolet Colorado was traveling south on SR-191 at mile post 263 on June 22nd at 8:00am when the crash occurred. “It appeared to leave the roadway onto an elevated view area above a steep mountainside,” shares UHP. “It drove off the edge coming to rest about 500 feet away, near the bottom of the ravine. All airbags had been deployed. No evidence of alcohol or drugs were initially observed.” Officials confirmed that the vehicle was occupied by a single male who suffered fatal injuries. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Matthew M. Wayas of Orem. The accident is under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation.
