It was an electric night at the Alive After 5 finale in Vernal on Thursday evening. The top four performers sang their hearts out leaving a tough job for the judges. After the audience vote was factored in, it was announced that Jacob Murray took 4th, Kinley Rich 3rd, Madi Haslem 2nd, and Faith Simper was declared this year’s winner. Faith is 24-years-old and has been singing since 5th grade. Her favorite songs she sang in the competition were Christian ballads ‘Living Hope’ and ‘How Great Thou Art’. She said the competition was a new experience for her. “It put me out of my comfort zone but I’m really thankful for the opportunity and incredibly honored to win,” she shared. “I want to thank my family and friends who supported me through the weeks and honestly, to God be the Glory.” The competition, supported by Vernal City as a primary sponsor for the last 20 years, gave out $1800 in prize money last night. Curtis Ralphs, won the $3500 dollar Grand Prize from the Wildlife Conservation Foundation with Fishing with The Fox and was presented with a check during the evening’s festivities. What a fantastic evening of entertainment and dreams coming true!
