The Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo continues to grow and plans for the 2022 event are coming together. Rodeo Committee Vice President Carsen Young approached the Uintah County Commission this month for a sponsorship and gave a report on the 2021 event as well as the upcoming July rodeo. 695 contestants competed in the 2021 rodeo with 11,762 people in attendance over 3 nights. Texas brought the most number of contestants followed by Utah. The 2022 Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo will be broadcast on the Cowboy channel and app. This year the rodeo has been rebranded to the NFR Playoff series and the amount of funding required to award the winners has increased from $8,500 to $10,000 dollars per event. Young also explained to the Commissioners that there are upgrades needed at the Western Park that will increase the safety at the rodeos. Uintah County Commissioners approved a sponsorship in the amount of $25,000 dollars.
