Thousands enjoyed the three days of ballooning fun that made up Dinah “SOAR” Days in Vernal over the weekend. People all over the valley watched the balloons in the morning from their yards or other vantage points and some even received the surprise of a balloon landing in fields next to their homes. The night activities had great attendance with music and a special ambiance. Friday’s night glow was not possible due to weather concerns but the pilots still set up their baskets and fire power. Saturday night also had some weather concerns but one balloon thrilled the crowd by filling up and glowing in the middle of Highway 40 downtown. The crowd cheered at the sight which was short lived as things got tense when the wind caused the balloon to come down. Still, the crowd enjoyed the music, fire displays, and overall fun downtown.
