The Department of Workforce Services reports that Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for December 2024 increased an estimated 2.6% across the past 12 months, with the state’s economy adding a cumulative 44,800 jobs since December 2023. Utah’s current job count stands at 1,790,300. Employment by levels by county were reported at 359 in Daggett County, 9,005 in Duchesne County, and 15,799 in Uintah County. “Utah’s labor market ended 2024 with strong growth across industries,” shares DWS Chief Economist Ben Crabb. “The decline in job openings dating back to 2022 seems to be leveling off, and the state’s unemployment rate is holding steady. Entering 2025, the state’s labor market is showing resilience and durable growth.”
