The Vernal Elks Lodge is all about supporting local youth and their families and they have an event coming up to do just that. The Elks Lodge #2375 National Hoops Shoot Competition is happening at the Uintah Recreation Center for free on November 18th. This is for youth ages 8 to 13 and each participant gets 25 free throw shots for a chance to advance to District, State, and Regional competition with Finals happening in Chicago, Illinois. You never know how many shots you can make unless you try so all are encouraged to bring their kids for their shot at it. The event will also include free lunch and awards afterwards at the Elks Lodge for participants and their families. For more information, call 435-790-0147.
