The East Fork Fire is still moderately burning. It has burned over 69,000 acres to date and is about 72% contained. Recently, the crews were able to establish hose lays along the Petty Mountain Loop Road and were able to contain all the spot fires near Hells Canyon. They also suppressed fire activity throughout the interior of the fire perimeter with helicopter water drops. Suppression repairs continue along the eastern perimeter. Command of the East Fork and Canyon Creek Trail Fire will be transferring to a local Type-3 team who are shadowing Great Basin Team 7 to familiarize themselves with the fires. Fire activity is expected to continue until significant precipitation occurs.
