Eagle View Exits ‘School Improvement’ Status

In what is being celebrated as a great success, Eagle View Elementary School has exited ‘School Improvement’ status. On October 30th, Uintah Superintendent Mark Dockins was notified by the Utah State Board of Education that Eagle View has made “significant progress” and as a result has exited that status. The state had threatened to close West Middle School nearly a decade ago because the school failed to demonstrate adequate yearly progress on standardized tests. In response, the Uintah School Board restructured the school and renamed it Eagle View. Principal Robert Stearmer was appointed to lead the school. His leadership is considered key in the school’s improvement and Stearmer was recognized and received a commendation during last week’s Uintah School Board meeting. Principal Stearmer believes the school will continue on its uphill trajectory.
